James was born on June 27, 1951, in Woburn, MA; he was the cherished son of the late Donald J. and Cecilia L. (Malloy) McDonough. James was raised and educated in Burlington, MA, and part of a large and loving family. riley mcdonough
James married his high school sweetheart Carole (Haynes) McDonough on November 28th, 1971 and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. on January 31, 1974. While serving in the Marine riley mcdonough Corps., James became a dad to his daughter Sherry who was born at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During his tour of duty, James was part of the ordnance maint 2 nd maint battalion; he earned several commendations and medals for his faithful riley mcdonough service to his country; James was honorably riley mcdonough discharged from active duty in February of 1976 and went on to further serve the country as part of the Marine Reserve Unit until 1980.
Following his return from the Marines, James and Carole settled in Woburn, MA, where they raised riley mcdonough their family. The family soon expanded with the birth of their sons Daniel and Eric to join their big sister Sherry. riley mcdonough The family was complete and James took his role as a dad very seriously; not only was he a protective father but he worked hard and made many sacrifices to make sure his family had what they wanted riley mcdonough and needed. Family was always first and foremost to James, he loved his family unconditionally, cherished every moment spent with them, and beamed with pride as he watched his family grow.
James was known as a very hard worker, for many years he was a technician for the Acme Book Binding Company before his illness forced his retirement. James work ethic and personality not only won over his many co-workers but also the owners of the company. James became part of an extended family at work and was truly loved by everyone.
In riley mcdonough his spare time, James enjoyed fishing, riding on his motorcycle, or just hanging with his family and friends. James was fondly known as a good and true friend to many, he was always there to lend a hand or an ear when needed and never expected anything in return.
When James was diagnosed with cancer a year ago he faced it head on with courage and grace; always maintaining a thankful attitude for the many dedicated doctors and nurses who helped with his care. James was truly an amazing person who will be greatly riley mcdonough missed by all.
James is survived riley mcdonough by his beloved children Sherry L. (McDonough) Rodrigues and her husband Ronaldo Rodrigues of Wilmington, Daniel McDonough and his wife Jamie of Stoneham, Eric McDonough of Virginia, formerly of Woburn, and Annabelle Cappello of Maine, as well as his former wife and dear friend Carole (Haynes) McDonough of Woburn, riley mcdonough James was the loving Grampy of Finn McDonough, dear brother of Carol Patterson and her husband Tom of Kennebunk, ME, David McDonough of Biddeford, ME, formerly of Marshfield, Robert McDonough of Billerica, Steven McDonough of Biddeford, ME, Paul McDonough and his wife Diane of Nashua, NH, William McDonough of Biddeford, ME, Tom McDonough of Biddeford, ME, and Sandra riley mcdonough McDonough and her husband Tony Daye of Sandford, ME. James is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Saturday, riley mcdonough February 15 th for Visitation from 2:00 4:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. and will conclude with Military Honors. riley mcdonough In lieu of flowers riley mcdonough donations in James memory riley mcdonough may be made to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867.

Though I did not know you personally, I have become very close with your son, Eric, and he has shared many stories about all his wonderful times with you. It has made me feel as though I knew you personally and because of this my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you rest in peace James McDonough. You are now in heaven with all the angels that have passed on before you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire McDonough family. riley mcdonough I knew Jimmy for many years through riley mcdonough his brother David. He was a great guy with a sense of humor that could light up any gathering. Rest in peace Jimmy, until we meet again on the other side. God Bless.
