============== We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific stange design situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book CAT DADDY and of course, the show My Cat From Hell . ==============
Check out PetFinder where you can do breed specific stange design searches. Try to rescue one from a shelter stange design so you can save a life of an animals that is likely to be put down if not adopted. The shelter I volunteer stange design at has had many cats that look a lot like “Toygers”, but didn’t stange design have pedigrees. Visit your local shelters and perhaps you’ll find a cat that touches your heart and find out that they don’t have to be a specific breed to need your love.
Actually, you need to exercise due diligence even with breeders in the back of Cat Fancy. There was a well-known problem with one of the Siamese breeders who continued to advertise. Don’t know if she still does or not.
Actually, the breeders in Cat Fancy are no worse than others. Probably better as it is one of the more expensive places to advertise. We have gotten two Exotic Shorthairs from one of those breeders. We got them 6 years apart, so it was no fluke that they are really great. One went to the Rainbow Bridge 3 years ago – old age problems. The other, my heart cat, is lying on my mouse, purring his head off.
Do a bit of research on the breeder. Particularly ask other breeders (who may not have one for sale that suits your needs). We went to a cat show in the San Francisco area and asked others about her (she was ill and couldn’t show her cats at that show). The praise was ample. I would get another from her any day.
Another benefit of rescuing a cat is the cost. Breeders sell cats for very high prices. A shelter cat will only cost a nominal fee to cover medical care they’ve received. An expensive cat from a kitty mill? Or an inexpensive cat saved from euthanasia or a boring lifetime in a no kill shelter. The choice seems easy to me.
Steven, Where are you located? I recently (2 weeks ago) got TWO Toyger kittens from a breeder in PA. My husband and I live in SC. Have you done a lot of research on them? Be prepared as they are VERY active but the sweetest and the most beautiful cats with LOTS of personality. As a matter stange design of fact one of them is trying to help me write this reply! Feel free to contact me if I cam help you!
Mr Galaxy I know you do not answer personal emails, but I do not do the facebook, blog, etc. thing (only one on earth) We have a desperate situation. We had 3 rescue reident cats and 2 rescue dogs. Also a Koi pond with 28 rescued Koi fish. The cats are indoor, 2 girls and a boy. Last July a stray showed up in our driveway, she was heavily pregnant, and very friendly. She was not chipped so I put up signs and called the police for 2 weeks, no one reported a lost cat. We brought her inside and she had 3 little kittens all with white mittens. They were adopted together to a good home! The problem is the 4 cats that remain are ruining our house! I do not know how to tell you how bad it is – They have ruined 3 couches, 2 loveseats – (1 leather), 1 ottoman, about 7 oriental rugs, 3 comforters, stange design and 4 chairs! It is so bad that they poo and pee on and under our king Bed. We had to put a plastic mattress cover on the mattress – very uncomfterable for us. When I was in bed the boy pooed and peed ON me – how horrible! We have tried everything. Loss of expensive furniture, vet vsits to diagnose the problem, cleaning products, carpet cleaner for the carpet, professional cleaning of the rugs, cat training books- everything we could think of!!! We have probably spent close to $10,000! Rehoming them is not really an option – we love them and they are family Please, please help! We live in a nice home on a Ravine stange design in a suburb of Chicago, called Highland Park. We care about our home, our “kids” and ourselves. PLEASE HELP!!! Know you are bombarded with requests for help, but hope you will consider this,
