Nature exists in a state of imbalance, but the situation is now affected by development and population growth. We waste a lot of garbage every day and 95% is deposited in landfills. Waste recycling is one way to reduce waste and minimize the use of space to put the rubbish. Recycling practices should be encouraged to produce environmentally friendly society. Awareness of the importance of recycling should be improved and expanded. Nature makes the place comfortable and clean is our responsibility to future generations.
Recycling can be explained through the concept of 3R, Reduce (Less), Reuse (Reuse), and Recycle (Recycle) which is a concept qy70 introduced over the last decade. It is the result of seeing the state of the earth that is contaminated rubbish that everywhere due to the use of a variety of goods without limit. Reduce (reduce) intends to reduce the use of any type of goods. We can reduce the range of goods such as electricity, water, paper and so on. If we do not adopt this concept, qy70 of course, this stuff will fill this earth if there is no action to address this issue. Reuse (reuse) practiced when an item can not be deleted or is still in good condition. qy70 Among them we can reuse plastic bottles, buckets, old tires, cloth and so on. If we adopt the concept of Reuse in everyday life, the cost for our daily expenses are reduced and we can enjoy the results. Recycling is a term often we hear every day. Various parties encourage people to recycle items that can be recycled. Why should we recycle? We need to recycle to a particular type of goods does not exceed the limit and eventually become waste that would hurt our eyes.
This study aimed to obtain basic information about whether the USM students participate or not in the recycling program, as well as understanding and their views on recycling activities. Among other goals is to compare the backgrounds of the students involved and students who are not involved in this activity qy70 and are able to explain the background, the factors driving or affecting the USM student involvement in recycling programs. It was also able to understand the impact and learning in the recycling program among students qy70 and can suggest how to inculcate among students of environmental loved USM can be improved.
Interests to be derived qy70 from this study is that it can give the impression of the level of involvement or participation USM students in recycling activities and groups that always accompanies a recycling program in addition to the usual ethnic groups involved. Through this study can also be a description of the activities commonly performed by students of the university. In addition, this study also shows how far USM students' knowledge about recycling and encourage them to equally participate in the recycling cycle.
This research involves the students in the main campus of USM, Penang. The survey was conducted in everywhere in the campus USM, Penang include any hostels, offices, canteens and other places. We conduct interviews to any student who represents the total number of students. In addition, we also developed a lot of information through secondary sources such as internet sources, newspapers, and other does. We have also participated in their own self menghadikan a recycling workshop organized by the students of final year Journalism.
